This episode is what I am calling an Addendum to my previous look at Abraham and the Covenant. You will hear much of the same previously covered but there is an emphasis that I wanted to share with you. It has to do with God’s dealing with the barrenness and weakness of these earthen vessels in bringing about His intention. In this episode, we will explore Paul's words in Galatians 3 concerning Abraham believing God and it reckoned to him as righteousness. We take this into a short comparison between covenant and contract to demonstrate how God has chosen to relate to our souls upon the basis of Covenant instead of contract. We will see the certainty of God's Covenant with Abraham, His Promise and show how that is valid today in much more certainty through Christ within. We will see how God's promise and performing in us is due to Covenant where He provides all things according to His own sufficiency instead of what we believe to be a contractual obligation in which we have to hold up our end of the agreement (spoiler - we cannot). Just as Abraham was brought into a Covenant divinely established previous to his reception into it, we have no active roll in determining the sureness of Salvation, but we can rest assured in the sufficiency of the One who is the New Covenant in us.

This is a vital thing because when our beginning seems to be insufficient, we will seek for the results of sufficiency in the realm of superficial external proofs. In this episode, I jump ahead in Romans 8 to see how Paul further validates and substantiates his declaration that there is No Condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. He does so by presenting the basis of such a condition as the Person and Work of Christ Himself.  I also warn against the tendency to ‘personalize” our salvation, a tendency, which has produced and nourished every fallacious religious concept that has ever existed. This is a “super-duper sized” episode. I could have divided it but I felt it would do a disservice to the flow of the session, so pause and stop as much as needed to get to the end of the lesson.

In this episode, we look at the Law of the Life of the Spirit, by which we are made free from the inward Law of Sin and Death. This Life has ushered into the soul a Salvation to the Uttermost, a Salvation that is full, actualized, and effectual.
